Better To Give

Saturday, October 30, 2010
A young man, a student in one of the universities, was one day taking a walk with a Professor, who was commonly called the student's friend, from his kindness to those who waited on his instructions.

As they went along, they saw lying in the path a pair of old shoes, which they supposed to belong to a poor man who was employed in a field close by,and who had nearly finished his day's work. The student turned to the professor, saying: "Let us play the man a trick: we will hide his shoes, and conceal ourselves behind those bushes, and wait to see his perplexity when he cannot find them." "My young friend," answered the professor, "we should never amuse ourselves at the expense of the poor. But you are rich, and may give yourself a much greater pleasure by means of this poor man. Put a coin in each shoe, and then we will hide ourselves and watch how this affects him."

The student did so and they both placed themselves behind the bushes close by. The poor man soon finished his work, and came across the field to the path where he had left his coat and shoes.

While putting on his coat he slipped his foot into one of his shoes, but feeling something hard, he stooped down to feel what it was, and found the coin. Astonishment and wonder were seen upon his countenance. He gazed upon the coin, turned it around, and looked at it again and again. He then looked around him on all sides, but no person was to be seen. He now put the money into his pocket, and proceeded to put on the other shoe; but his surprise was doubled on finding the other coin.

His feelings overcame him; he fell upon his knees, looked up to the heavens and uttered aloud a fervent thanksgiving in which he spoke of his wife who was sick and helpless, and his children without bread, whom this timely bounty, from some unknown hand, would save from perishing.

The student stood there deeply affected, and his eyes filled with tears. "Now," said the professor, are you not much better pleased than if you had played your intended trick?" The youth replied, "You have taught me a lesson which I will never forget. I feel now the truth of these words, which I never understood before: "It's more blessed to give than to receive."

Abdullah bin Abbas (R.A) reported that the Prophet (S.A.W) said that encouraging good, prohibiting evil, lifting the burden of the weak person and removing an offensive thing from a path are all acceptable prayers to Allah.[ibn Majah]

Bersabar Dengan Ujian Allah

(Hadis riwayat Al Bukhari)

Selain ubat, do'a juga penting untuk cepat menyembuhkan penyakit. Bersungguh-sungguhlah berdo'a kepada Allah.

Firman Allah dalam al-Quran surah Al-Baqarah ayat 186 yang bermaksud: “Dan apabila hamba-Ku bertanya kepadamu (Muhammad) mengenai Aku, maka sesungguhnya Aku ini dekat. Aku mengabulkan permintaan orang yang berdo'a, jika ia benar-benar memohon pada-Ku.”

Which One Are You

Friday, October 29, 2010
Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she didn't know how she was going to make it.
She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time. It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one soon followed.

Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot and ground coffee beans in the third pot. He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter. The daughter, moaned and impatiently waited, wondering what he was doing.
After twenty minutes he turned off the burners. He took the potatoes out of the pot and placed them in a bowl. He pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. He then ladled the coffee out and placed it in a cup.

Turning to her, he asked. "Daughter, what do you see?" "Potatoes, eggs and coffee," she hastily replied.
"Look closer", he said, "and touch the potatoes." She did and noted that they were soft.
He then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, he asked her to sip the coffee. Its rich aroma brought a smile to her face.
"Father, what does this mean?" she asked.

He then explained that the potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each faced the same adversity-the boiling water. However, each one reacted differently. The potato went in strong, hard and unrelenting, but in boiling water, it became soft and weak. The egg was fragile, with the thin outer shell protecting its liquid interior until it was put in the boiling water. Then the inside of the egg became hard. However, the ground coffee beans were unique. After they were exposed to the boiling water, they changed the water and created something new.

"Which one are you?" he asked his daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean?"
In life, things happen around us, things happen to us, but the only thing that truly matters is what happens within us.

Which one are you? When problems come (and they will) how will we react? Will they make us weak, hard hearted or will they cause us to change into something worthwhile?

"Happiness is not something you find, it's something you create."

"Smile in pleasure, smile in pain; Smile when trouble pours like rain; Smile when someone hurts you, Smile coz someone cares for you."

Friendship

Wednesday, October 27, 2010
Two friends Ismail and Ibrahim were walking through the desert, as the sun   was beating down on their heads, they were thirsty for water and began to argue. The argument got more and more heated and eventually Ismail struck    Ibrahim across the face. Ibrahim felt hurt inside, but without anything to say, he wrote in the sand: "Today, my best friend slapped my face."

They kept on walking, until eventually they came across an oasis, where they   decided to stop and bathe. Ibrahim jumped in and began to wash, while Ismail  sat back and relaxed. Suddenly Ibrahim began to scream and shout, he had   developed a cramp and was having difficulty keeping his head above water, he was drowning. Ismail dived in after him, and brought him gently to shore. When Ibrahim recovered from the shock, he scratched a message on a nearby stone: "Today, my best friend saved my life"

Ismail who had saved and slapped his best friend Ibrahim, asked him, "Why after I hurt you, you wrote in the sand, and now you write on a stone?".

Ibrahim, smiled and replied: "When a friend hurts us, we should write his deeds in the sand, where the winds of forgiveness can blow it away, and when a friend does something good, we should engrave it in stone, where it shall remain for eternity."

                   ..............................................

"In loneliness, in sickness, in confusion - the mere knowledge of friendship makes it possible to endure, even if the friend is powerless to help. It is enough that they exist. Friendship is not diminished by distance or time, by imprisonment or war, by suffering or silence. It is in these things that it roots most deeply. It is from these things that it flowers."  -Pam Brown

Diam

(Riwayat BUKHARI & MUSLIM)
*”Barangsiapa diam maka ia terlepas dari bahaya”.(Riwayat AT-TARMIZI)

Acknowledge ALLAH at times of EASE and He will remember You at times of HARDSHIP

When Prophet Yunus (A.S) was filled with distress in the belly of the whale, covered by those vast layers of darkness - the darkness of the sea, the darkness of the whales belly and the darkness of the night - when he was worried and anxious, he turned to Allah, the Almighty, the All Merciful, the One who helps the depressed and rescues the distress; the One whose mercy is immense, the One who accepts repentance, then he spoke those precious words:

[...But he called out throught the darkness [saying]: 'la ilaha illa anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O' Allah)], Glorified [and exalted] are You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers.']     (QUR'AN 21:87)

And the reponse came swiftly, as Allah, the Exalted, says:

[So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allah, abstain from evil and work righteousness).]     (QURAN 21:88)

Allah inspired the whale to throw Yunus (A.S) out in a deserted area. He came up onto the shore sick and weak, but Allah took care of him and bestowed His mercy upon him. He caused a kind of squash plant with broad leaves to grow over him. His health was restored and signs of life began to appear in him.

This is how it is for the one who acknowledges Allah at times of ease: He helps him at times of Hardship.

~ Great story to share ~

It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30AM, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a   hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 AM.

As a nurse, I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be
over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.

On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed  supplies to remove his stitches and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I asked  him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a    hurry.

The elderly gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's as we talked, I asked if she would be  upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that  she had not recognized him in five years now.

Note: Alzheimer's destroys brain cells, causing problems with memory, thinking  and behavior severe enough to affect work, lifelong hobbies or social life.

I was surprised, and asked him, "And you still go every morning, even though   she doesn't know who you are?"

He smiled as he patted my hand and said, "She doesn't know me, but I still  know who she is."

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, "That is the kind of love I want in my life."

Moral of the Story
True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that  is, has been, will be and will not be.
The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything The Map of   Luxury; they just make the best of everything they have.

*Note :
The above story is almost the same as what someone told me sometimes ago. A couple of oldies spending their time in old folk home. Wife has Alzheimer n her hubby spends most of his time with her, talking with her, eating together even tho she didnt recognise who he is anymore. Not easy to have that kind of love in this world nowadays. So pure. I wish to have that kind of love in my life :D. To love and to be loved, together in every situations till death do apart .. Will I ????

For The Rest Of My Life

I praise Allah for sending me you my love
You found me home and sail with me
And I`m here with you
Now let me let you know
You`ve opened my heart
I was always thinking that love was wrong
But everything was changed when you came along
OOOOO
And theres a couple words I want to say
For the rest of my life
I`ll be with you
I`ll stay by your side honest and true
Till the end of my time
I`ll be loving you. loving you
For the rest of my life
Thru days and night
I`ll thank Allah for open my eyes
Now and forever I I`ll be there for you
I know that deep in my heart
I feel so blessed when I think of you
And I ask Allah to bless all we do
You`re my wife and my friend and my strength
And I pray we`re together eternally
Now I find myself so strong
Everything changed when you came along
OOOO
And theres a couple word I want to say
For the rest of my life
I`ll be with you
I`ll stay by your side honest and true
Till the end of my time
I`ll be loving you. loving you
For the rest of my life
Thru days and night
I`ll thank Allah for open my eyes
Now and forever I I`ll be there for you
I know that deep in my heart now that you`re here
Infront of me I strongly feel love
And I have no doubt
And I`m singing loud that I`ll love you eternally
For the rest of my life
I`ll be with you
I`ll stay by your side honest and true
Till the end of my time
I`ll be loving you.loving you
For the rest of my life
Thru days and night
I`ll thank Allah for open my eyes
Now and forever I I`ll be there for you
I know that deep in my heart

Kisah Asiah Isteri Firaun

Maka malaikat pun menunjukkan gambaran keindahan syurga sebagaimana permohonan Asiah.

The Clever King

~ Great story to share with everyone ~

There was a country long time ago where the people would change a king every year. The person who would become the king had to agree to a contract that he will be sent to an island after his one year of being a king.

One king finished his term and it was time for him to go to the island and live there. The people dressed him up in expensive clothes and put him on an elephant and took him around the cities to say goodbye to all the people. This was the moment of sadness for all the kings who ruled for one year. After saying goodbye, the people took the king with a boat to the remote island and left him there.

On their way back, they discovered a ship that had sunk just recently. They saw a young man who survived by holding on to a floating piece of wood. As they needed a new king, they picked up the young man and took him to their country. They requested him to be a king for a year. First he refused but later he agreed to be a king. People told him about all the rules and regulations and that how he will be sent to an island after one year.

After three days of being a king, he asked the ministers if they could show him the island where all the other kings were sent. They agreed and took him to the island. The island was covered with thick jungles and sound of vicious animals were heard coming out of them. The king went little bit inside to see how it was and discovered the dead bodies of all the past kings. He understood that as soon as they were left in the island, the animals came and killed them.

The king then went back to the country and requested the people to provide him with 100 strong workers. He was provided with 100 workers and he took them to the island and told them to remove all the deadly animals and to cut down all the trees. He would visit the island every month to see how the work is progressing.

In the first month, all the animals were removed and many trees were cut down. In the second month, the whole island was cleaned out. The king then told the workers to plant gardens in various parts of the island. He also took with himself useful animals like chickens, ducks, birds, goats, cows etc. In the third month, he ordered the workers to build big houses and docking stations for ships. Over the months, the island turned into a beautiful place. The young king would wear simple clothes and spend very little from his earnings. He sent all the earnings to the island for storage. Nine months have passed like this. The king called the people and told them that "I know that I have to go the island after one year, but I would like to go there right now." But the people didn't agree to this and said that he have to wait for another 3 months to complete the year.

3 months passed and now it was a full year. The people dressed up the young king and put him on an elephant to take him around the country to say goodbye to others. However, this king is unusually happy to leave the kingdom. People asked him, "All the other kings would cry at this moment and why are you laughing?" He replied, "Don't you know what the wise people say? They say that when you came to this world as a baby, you were crying and everyone was smiling. Live such a life that when you are dieing, you will be smiling and everyone around you will be crying. I have lived that life. While all the other kings were lost into the luxuries of the kingdom, I always thought about the future and planned for it. I turned the deadly island into a beautiful abode for me where I can stay peacefullly."

Moral of the Story
We should take a lesson from this story about how we should also live our life. The life of this world is to prepare for the life hereafter. In this life, we shouldn't get lost into the beautiful things of this world and forget about what is to come in the afterlife. Rather, even if we are kings, we should live a simple life like our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and save all our enjoyments for the hereafter. May Allah make it easy for us all.

Lyrics: Insha ALLAH

Every time you feel like you cannot go on
You feel so lost and
That you're so alone
All you see is night
And darkness all around
You feel so helpless
You can’t see which way to go
Don’t despair n' never loose hope
Cos' Allah is always by your side

Insha Allah x3

Insha Allah you’ll find your way

Insha Allah x3

Every time you commit one more mistake
You feel you can’t repent
And that it's why too late
You’re so confused,
Wrong decisions you have made
Hunt your mind and your heart is full of shame
Don’t despair and never loose hope
Cos' Allah is always by your side

Insha Allah x3

Insha Allah you’ll find your way

Insha Allah x3

Insha Allah you’ll find your way
Turn to Allah
He’s never far away
Put your trust in Him Raise your hands and pray Oh
Ya Allah
Guide my steps don’t let me go astray
You’re the only one that showed me the way,
Showed me the way x2

Insha Allah x3

Insha Allah we’ll find our way
